Tournament Chairman’s Report

The July tournament (individual play) took place on July 26, 2025. 113 members entered and 111 played. We had 6 flights and paid 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places, gross and net, in each flight. The Pro Shop emailed out the tournament results on July 27 (and also emailed the cash buy-in, CTP, and skins results on July 28). The results are also shown in this edition of the newsletter.

August 23: Four-Man Shamble.

A shamble is when each player in the foursome tees off, then the team selects the best drive, and each player plays his ball from that spot to the cup. The two best balls, gross and net, are scored.

September 27: Member Appreciation Day

Our annual Member Appreciation Day tournament will take place on September 27th. It will be a 4-man scramble, with a shotgun start; teams will be drawn by a blind draw with an A flight, B flight, C flight, and D flight member on each team. There will be food and drinks provided after the golf, and free balls and other “swag” given out in appreciation of our members who play in the tournament.

October 25 & 26: Club Championship

If you plan to play in our Gross Flight Club Championship in October, you must have played in at least 3 prior tournaments earlier this year. The winner in the gross division (5.4 index and lower) will be entered in the SCGA Tournament of Club Champions on 12/1/25 at Glendora CC. The net division winner will also play on 12/1/25 in the SCGA Tournament of Club Champions at either

Indian Canyons or Shadow Hills in the Palm Springs area. The Senior division winner – age 55 and older - with an index of 9.4 and below, will play in the SCGA Tournament of Club Champions at Calabasas CC on 12/1/25. (All entry fees to be paid for by RHMC.)
