March 2026 SCGA Handicap and Delegate Report

SCGA Handicap Report

Listed below are our three most improved golfers for the period January 15th through March 16th. A minimum of six rounds needed to be posted during this two-month period. Congratulations to these fine gentlemen. Keep up the good work

If you play a round of golf by yourself, regardless of the number of holes you played, this is not a round you can post. All posted rounds must be accompanied by another golfer.

SCGA Delegate Report

SCGA Public Affairs: CAG or California Alliance for Golf is our advocate in Sacramento that works for keeping public golf courses open and not turned into public housing. They have fought to keep Riverview Golf course in Santa Ana, Buenaventura Golf course in Ventura, as well as 5 other courses in Southern California from being closed for housing or park use. You can read about the Public Affairs group in FORE Magazine. They are also sponsoring legislation on not allowing tee time brokers from scooping up all the times at public courses.

Course Conditions

have noticed that many of our holes have numerous divots in our fairways inside 100 yards. The crew that works on the course can only fill so many divots in a day. It is up to us as members of the club to fill in your divot and plus one more. This ensures that those behind have a somewhat better lie, and it keeps the fairways in good shape. We don’t want you filling 10 or 12 divots as it slows play. Avoid taking divots with practice swings. If you’re walking during a noncompetitive round, carry a divot filler on your handcart. It is up to us to keep the course in the best shape possible.

Other areas we can do to keep the course in tip-top shape: rake bunkers on your way out. Leave the rakes inside the bunker.

Please remember golf is a game, so have fun out there.
